There I was, laughing and singing on my way to Badlapur. The thrill and joy of exploring had driven and led me to my first adventure camp. I could not wait to get there. The fire of excitement burned in me. I went with twenty of my schoolmates and many other children from different schools. When I looked out of the window, I saw beautiful mountains, lakes, farms, villages and many houses too.

On the first day we went for a interesting nature walk where we learnt many new fantastic facts about plants such as the Tulsi, Nerium, Periwinkle, and Jatropha.

By the time the evening came, I was exhausted. We went back to our tents, after which we went for dinner. After a good night’s sleep, we had breakfast and then did many group activities. Our first activity was that each group gets a topic and we have to make it as realistic as we can. Our group’s topic was ‘ship’. We did it with the entire team’s hard work. We did a fantastic job.

We went for a lake crossing zip line where, the volunteer puts a harness around us and we have to cross the zip line. I really had a lot of fun. Then we went to the Berma Bridge. Where we had to cross a bridge and then go down a net slide. It was awesome. In the evening we went to the rainforest it was actually a path with sprinklers put on the top. I danced as I walked through the rainforest. Then we went to a beautiful water fountain. From the fountain I was an amazing scenery, far away the mountains and a calm lake. There also was a waterfall. I liked going in the waterfall. In the night we went for star gazing. A uncle had brought a telescope. We learnt about constellations. I saw Jupiter and its four moons.

On the third day we went for another nature walk and got numerous mangoes and star fruits, which we could wash and eat. Then it was time to say goodbye. We had to leave to go back to Mumbai. It was a great experience and I thoroughly enjoyed the camp. I was sad to leave. I will never forget all that I did and learnt in camp. One of the most important lessons I learnt was TEAMWORK IS DREAMWORK.
