Music as Therapy
Life is not a bed of roses and the thorns that prick an individual make the mind restless. One starts looking for a cure to attain peace – one of the key ingredients for a happy life. In recent times, a new therapy is known to create wonders – music therapy.
Right from our infancy, we have been exposed to music. The first song we heard was our mother’s lullaby; the best antidote for our mindless wailing. We are introduced to film, classical, rock and other trendy music as we transition into our teens. Indeed, music is considered as a phenomenal stress-buster. Our mind gets immersed in the music. It feels as if a huge load has been lifted from our shoulders. Renowned drummer Jess Bowen had once said, “The power of music can change one’s mood”.
Bob Marley had once said, “One good thing about music is that when it hits you, you feel no pain”. “Music is the prayer that every heart sings”. I think all music lovers would admit that music is the one that makes them feel alive, and make them have a positive attitude towards life. Let’s sway to the song of life :- Music.
