Digital Media and Artificial intelligence
Today I’m writing an article on Digital Media and Artificial Intelligence(AI).
Now a days, you have voice assistants like Siri, Bixby(Samsung), Google Assistant, Cortana(Microsoft) and Alexa, that can control your phone (e.g – turn on/ off mobile data) or book movie tickets. That’s an example of AI.
Another example of AI is the fact that a few models of air conditioners can be controlled from a smartphone app and also by Alexa.
One day AI will reach a level where lifts, Airconditioners, all electrical appliances will be voice controlled. All this AI advancement will have one result : making us very lazy and inactive.
So, here are a few tips to avoid that (bad) laziness –
1. Try and do your own work like get up and switch on/ off the fan / light
2. Train your brain to be active by solving puzzles or sudoku
3. Try remembering mobile numbers / birth dates of family and friend
Moving to Digital Media – there are billions of websites available on the internet. You just need to type what you are looking for in the search box of the websites and there you go, you will get multiple answers /results, no need to go through many books to get the answer.
We have Youtube, the video viewing website with so many videos …..educational, old and new movie songs, movies, travel stories, and so on
We have Google, the website that knows everything. Amazon, the firm once only sold things from other companies but now has an AI / IT department which tracks your browsing history and have pop ups tempting you to buy things that you may have just seen/ googled.
Another example is e-newspapers such as New York times, Khaleej Times, Times of India, Economic Times, etc published on their websites, were you can view contents online thereby saving paper and reducing the carbon foot prints.
Such is the influnce of AI and Digital Media on your life. That means one day the phone’s screens will be projected in air! That’s what we can expect in 2030. or 2050 you will not have a real pet you will have Robotic Pet.
In short, life will be COMPLETELY digital in next 80/90 years by 2100 or 2110.
